Yes folks, the Pope gave in and decided to reformulate the prayers found at the 1962 Roman Missal for the Tridentine Mass for the conversion of the Jews. To this Dr. Gary L. Cass of the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission said, "In a very disturbing acquiescence to "political correctness," Pope Benedict XVI has chosen the approval of non-Christians and unbelievers over the Truth of Christ."
I can't blame him for saying so. The Jews have rejected Christ and for this their souls are in jeopardy unless they come to terms with accepting the truth of Christ. As Christians we should pray for their conversion.
The issue here isn't really about the uncharitable nature of the prayers in the missal. What is really ticking me off is that the Pope decided to reformulate these prayers due to the pressure from lobby groups such as the Jewish Anti-Defamation League and guys like Abraham Foxman.
Why should they coerce us into changing those prayers? We don't see them clamoring for the removal of hateful slurs against Christ and Christians in the Talmud.
