Danger to our Religious Freedoms

St. Peter The Scribe

The Philippines is particularly blessed because its religious institutions, Catholic or otherwise enjoy freedom in exercising their prerogatives without any interference from the government.

Unfortunately on the other side of the globe things are going the wrong way. We need to pray for our friends in the United States. Please pray for the pharmacists, doctors, and those in the medical profession who continue to endure the government's intrusion in their professional pratice. They are forced to promote procedures and remedies that are contrary to what the Catholic Church teaches. Many are forced to oblige but there are those who stood their ground and fought. Sadly, they do not receive much support from Catholic leaders and the clergy.

This intrusion by the Federal government is unconstitutional. As you may know the U.S. Constitution as part of the Bill of Rights states that the federal government shall not make laws which prohibit the free exercise of religion.

Moreover any Catholic institution that does not stand firmly by Catholic principles does not deserve to be called Catholic.
